What is Reseller Hosting?

Reseller hosting is when a company sells and rents out services to other companies or individual customers. These services include web domains, disk space, bandwidth, CPUs, and RAM, which are rented out by the reseller hosting provider who is typically responsible for administrating the services provided for the company or individual that has purchased it. However, some reseller hosting providers  provide a way for the purchaser to access and configure the services themselves, often through a control panel of sorts such as cPanel reseller hosting.

Some of the reasons reseller hosting services are rented is because it reduces a lot of cost and time needed to set up. Companies that are starting out can purchase web domains from reseller hosting providers  and customise their websites to how they want it to be, without mentioning the host provider known as white label reseller hosting . They can often have full access and reign over the web domain allowing them to customise it to how they want it to look, whereas getting a web domain from a website building service isn’t as open and is typically limited in what the user can do. However, they can also white label instead, by disguising and branding their product as the reseller’s company instead of their own without their clients knowing. Additionally, reseller hosting companies often have software for web building and access to cPanel and client panels. This makes it a lot easier to set up websites if a customer is renting a reseller hosting service for web domain usage.

Another reason is to remove the cost of server maintenance and set up, companies can simply rent these services from reseller hosting companies and have them deal with the set up for free and have it maintained by them; especially when the provider has customer support available to contact with any issues.

The major benefits of reseller hosting are:

1. Reduced costs/pricing

Due to the fact that customers do not need to purchase their own server systems, set them up, and maintain them, it is much cheaper for them to run their business by going with reseller hosting packages provided by another company.

2. Less maintenance chores

Any tech issues that occur, such as servers going down and keeping runtime up can be dealt with by technicians from the reseller company, with many offerings 24/7 customer support to help handle any problems and even offer advice to customers, it can save time for those that purchase the services as they do not need to fix it themselves and have someone else monitor and maintain their servers

3. Access to control panel

Some hosting companies give access to control panel to their clients and allows them to manage their own systems easily through the software, which is good if a business wishes to take matters into their own hands and not run things through to a technician.

4. Profit

Companies can purchase services from reseller hosting businesses and then resell those same services to other customers, allowing their company and the original reseller to earn money and profit.

5. Features

Reseller hosting allows more control over your services, allowing you to have access to customer information and accounts. This can allow the availability of more features than basic hosting plans.

The reseller hosting provider takes care of security and reliability of the server saving you time and money.

You dont have to pay expensive license fees for software to run the servers.
